Free Events For Home Gardeners In September

MADERA COUNTY – Madera County Master Gardeners will host several events for home gardeners in September.

• For those of you attending the Madera District Fair (Sept. 5 to 8), Master Gardeners will be available in our booth to answer your gardening questions.

The booth will be staffed through 9 p.m. each day. (Paid admission to the fair is necessary.)

• Get your gardens in shape for fall! Master Gardeners will be available to answer your gardening and landscaping questions on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Yosemite Lakes Park True Value Hardware, 29564 Yosemite Springs Parkway, Coarsegold. This event is free and no reservations are required.

• Fall is the time of year to plant bulbs to brighten your spring garden! On Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, attend a workshop on bulbs presented by Master Gardeners Judy Hecht and Janet Longatti-Wallace.

The workshop will be held at the Madera Community College Center, 30277 Avenue 12, Room 3A (located in the last row of classrooms at the back of the campus). There is no charge for this workshop and free parking is available in Parking Lot C. No reservations are necessary.
