Fire Burning In O’Neals Area Off Road 210

O’NEALS – Crews are responding to a vegetation fire in a remote area near O’Neals.

At 5:43 p.m., reports came in of a fire on a property at 51100 Road 210. Multiple reports began coming in to the Cal Fire Emergency Command Center, and the smoke is visible from the top of Deadwood.

The first unit at scene reported the fire at 20 to 30 acres and noted that access to the scene would be challenging.

The Battalion Chief requested two additional air tankers and a full wildland dispatch.

Air Attack is en route, plus air tankers, helicopters and dozers.

CHP has responded to assist in directing fire equipment to access points.

At 6:09 p.m., three additional air tankers were requested.

When Air Attack arrived overhead at 6:11 p.m., they reported the fire at 45 acres, burning in oak woodland and grass, active on all sides, with structures immediately threatened.

The Incident Commander has requested two more Type 3 Strike Teams (10 engines), two more dozers and four additional hand crews.

At 6:27 p.m., the size of the fire was estimated at 60 to 70 acres, with a spot fire off to the north about 1/4 mile.
