COARSEGOLD – The Coarsegold Post Office will be extending the hours that the post office box lobby is open, starting today.
People will be able to access their mail boxes from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., seven days a week, says Postmaster Anil Olivera.
The mail box lobby used to be open 24 hours a day, but on Mar. 1, it was announced that due to ongoing vandalism, they would be closing the lobby overnight, and it would only be open during retail hours.
Olivera has made it his mission to get those hours extended, and hopes this will make things more convenient for those who work out of town.
Retail hours for the main counter are still 9 am. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and on Saturdays customers can pick up mail and packages at the dutch door from 8 a.m. to noon.
