The Mariposa Symphony Orchestra’s groundbreaking 5-county tour officially commemorating the 100th Anniversary Year of the National Park Service will have a special one-night-only performance in Oakhurst.

Fresh from its premiere performance weekend in Mariposa and in the (former) Ahwahnee Hotel which produced spontaneous standing ovations at both locations, the concert will feature MSO Founder/conductor Les Marsden’s concert-length “Our Nation’s Nature” – a series of four symphonic poems dedicated to four very special area anniversaries.

“Our Nation’s Nature” received a generous grant from the California Arts Council in recognition of its merit; the MSO is comprised of musicians from 8 counties, including performers from Oakhurst, Ahwahnee and Coarsegold, in addition to those from Mariposa, Merced, Fresno, Kings, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and even Inyo Counties.

Full information available at the Mariposa Symphony Orchestra’s Website: http://www.mariposaartscouncil.org/mariposa-symphony-orchestra/ Literally – an even over 100 years in the making. The Oakhurst concert will be introduced by a representative of the National Park Service. Tickets are $10 for Adults and $6 for Students – with discounted prices for members of the Mariposa County Arts Council. Tickets may be securely purchased online at https://squareup.com/store/mariposa-county-arts-council
