Yosemite High School Ranks #1 in Madera County

OAKHURST — U.S. News and World Report’s 2024 rankings of the Best California High Schools have placed Yosemite High School (YHS) as the top-performing high school in Madera County. YHS earned the top position based on comprehensive evaluations across multiple criteria.

YHS leads Madera County in first place, followed by Minarets Charter High School in second place. In third place is Madera High School. In California, Yosemite High School’s ranking is 818th place out of 2,616 high schools.

 

“We are honored to be recognized as the top high school in Madera County by U.S. News and World Report,” said Brian Beck, YUSD Superintendent. “This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a high-quality education that prepares students for success in their chosen career paths. We remain dedicated to fostering a supportive learning environment that empowers all students to achieve their full potential.”

To determine these rankings, U.S. News and World Report partners with RTI International, one of the world’s leading research institutes. Ranking for schools across the country are uses six factors: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, and graduation rate.
