Kern 2 photo by Lisa ClarkNORTH FORK –  UPDATE: Aug. 18: Lisa Clark reports: “Whoooohooo! The girls got the piggy banks and the goal jar and this community did great with over $156 cash plus a few English pounds and pences.”

Thanks to all who made a contribution.

Published originally on Aug. 8: After the burglaries in the Cascadel Woods area during the Willow Fire where, along with many other items, two little girls had their piggy banks stolen, Lisa Clark has made little “piggy bank” donation jars to “help mend the loss the Kern family is feeling.”

Kern 3 photo by Lisa ClarkLisa says the community has been very supportive and the jars are at the following locations: Bass Fork Minit Market, North Fork Hardware, North Fork Rancheria Offices, the North Fork Market and North Fork Pizza Factory.

“I have a great big huge jar and that is my ‘goal jar’ to present to Amy Kern and her family, even if I have to stand on the street corner,” says Lisa.

This afternoon’s Hot August Night will be a great chance to people to donate to the piggy bank cause.
