One-Way Traffic Control Delays Expected on State Route 49
MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct one-way traffic control for road work this week at two locations on State Route 49.
• Crews will perform grinding operations from the Madera/Mariposa County line to Varain Road from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. beginning Monday, May 24 to Friday, May 27, 2021.
This project will rehabilitate more than 35 lane miles of roadway on Route 49 from the Madera/Mariposa County line to the Route 140 junction in Mariposa. Construction is scheduled to continue until winter 2021.
• Workers will replace pavement markers from State Route 132 in Coulterville to Agua Fria Road in Mt. Bullion from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning Monday, May 24 to Friday, May 27, 2021.
Motorists should expect 10-minute delays and take alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
