Crews Make Quick Work Of Vegetation Fire Near North Fork

NORTH FORK – Crews responded to a vegetation fire burning along Road 222 just south of Road 200 in North Fork this afternoon, and had it contained within minutes of their arrival.

Firefighters were called out at around 5 p.m. to reports of a fire burning about 400 to 500 feet south of Road 200 on Auberry Road.

The first unit at scene arrived within minutes and reported the fire at about one-tenth of an acre with a moderate rate of spread.

By 5:18 p.m., crews had the fire contained and all resources not already at scene were cancelled. There were no road closures or evacuations and no structures were threatened.

Power lines were down in the ignition area which may have sparked the fire, however the cause is under investigation and PG&E is at scene.
