Sally Ternes.

Sally, 66, began her life in Steubenville, OH, from the parents of Edwin and Kay Boone.

She moved to California from Ohio after graduating from high school. She has been a resident of Ahwahnee, CA, for 23 years. She resided in the Bay Area for 23 years prior.

She went to be with Christ in paradise on January 14, 2023, peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Her lifelong relationship with God, providing for her steadfast faith, allowed her to pass calmly and comfortably to her heavenly home.

Sally was employed at Davis Chevrolet in Sunnyvale, CA for three years. She then went to CDC in San Jose for two years. After that she seemed to find her calling at Silicon Graphics in Cupertino, CA, for 14 years. Finally, she worked at Oblix in Mountain View, CA, until retirement and moving to Ahwahnee in 2000.

She always had much energy, so she couldn’t just sit at home. She began part-time bookkeeping jobs for Conley Plumbing, in Oakhurst, CA, for 20 years, and Platinum Solutions, in Coarsegold, CA for 17 years. She was a hell of an employee. You could always depend on her. She would go over and beyond always.

She enjoyed time with family and friends. Throughout her life, she loved to fish and golf. Both of which were taught to her by her father. She loved to entertain, and you know everything had to be perfect and for the most part, it always was. Most of these things were put on hold due to life changes and Covid.

Traveling was a favorite for Sally. Bowling tournaments or gambling trips or whatever it was for, she was the life of the party. At home she would settle down with knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, and sewing. She always kept herself busy. Especially when it came to her “daughter” Echo, her African Grey Parrot. Echo was always her pride and joy. Echo learned to say so many things by mimicking Sally. The two had an amazing bond.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Kay Boone; and brother Joseph Boone.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Ternes, of Ahwahnee, CA; stepson Brent Ternes of Morgan Hill, CA; and three siblings, David Boone and wife Brenda of Toronto, OH, Suzanne (Suzy) Ayers of Bluffton, SC, and Brian Boone of Youngstown, OH.

Sally was a great friend. When she bonded with someone it became a lifetime relationship. She left us way too soon. We will all miss her, but she will be forever in our hearts and treasured for many years to come.
