OAKHURST – The cause of a fire on Deadwood Mountain on July 4th that caused the total destruction of a home has been released by Cal Fire.
The Deadwood Fire, which was reported at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, and was caused by “unattended cooking,” according to Cal Fire investigators.
No one was injured in the fire, and there was no spread to the surrounding vegetation.
