Cal Fire Offers Free Vegetation And Logging Slash Disposal

NORTH FORK — The tree mortality epidemic has many residents wondering what to do with debris left behind by dead trees.

For a limited time, Cal Fire will have an Air Curtain Burner available to help residents dispose of unwanted brush, tree limbs, stumps and logs. The service is free of charge and is limited to natural vegetation. No processed lumber or unnatural materials will be accepted. There are no size restrictions.

The Air Curtain Burner is located at the Old Mill Site in North Fork, off Hancock Way near Madera County Fire Station 11.

This service will be available to the public and contractors every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, until the declaration of the beginning of fire season and/or the need is warranted.
