A local family is in need of your help this weekend. Family and friends of Neal and Tara Jones of Goldside will be washing cars and hosting a rummage sale this weekend to help with the huge costs incurred due to their son Ethan’s medical challenges.
In late 2010, Neal and Tara suffered the loss of their newborn son Nicholas. A year later, they had joyful news that they were expecting again. Ethan Joshua was born April 13, 2012 with myotonic dystrophy.
Ethan has been in the hospital since 5 days after his birth and was transferred to Palo Alto to receive the best care possible. The costs to travel back and forth weekly for gas, food and lodging, still providing for their other 3 children and the normal costs of living have created a staggering financial hardship.
Tara’s mom Debbie Herold, along with friends and family, has put together a Benefit Car Wash and a Yard Sale this weekend. On Saturday, July 14th, from 10am to 3pm, they will be holding a fundraiser car wash in the parking lot at Miller’s Mountain Sports, located at 40343 Highway 41 in Oakhurst. Then on Sunday, they will be having a yard sale from 8am to 3pm at 40596 Goldside Drive, off Highway 49 just west of Oakhurst.
