MARIPOSA COUNTY – Sheriff Doug Binnewies and the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office continue their campaign to rid their county of illegal drug activity.
On Thursday afternoon, June 26, detectives from the Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a parcel located on Wild Horse Lane, located about 15 miles south of the town of Mariposa.
The search warrant was related to an illegal marijuana investigation. Detectives located and collected 757 marijuana plants being cultivated at the site.
Two adult males, Sokdy Siphongsay, 30, and Sakda Bounthirath, 31, both of Fresno, were arrested at the Wild Horse Lane parcel for the illegal cultivation of marijuana, marijuana for sale and conspiracy.
Both men are currently being held at the Mariposa County Adult Detention Facility on $100,000 bail.
In addition to the local felony charges, Sakda Bounthirath is also being held on a Fresno County Superior Court warrant for DUI.
