OAKHURST – A 47-year-old male from San Bernardino, CA. drowned in a private pond in Oakhurst, CA. on March 14, 2022, around 2 pm.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a drowning at a private residence in Oakhurst.
Deputies responded to the 50000 block of Road 423 and discovered a deceased adult male. The victim was later identified as 47-year-old Jonnie Lee Ray of San Bernardino.
Deputies conducted a preliminary investigation which indicated Mr. Ray was involved in a boating accident on a pond located on the private property. The deputies believe his death to be accidental. No foul play is suspected.
The official cause of death will be pending an autopsy.
