BASS LAKE – Snag a fish during the 36th Annual Bass Lake Fishing Derby, for your chance to win a portion of the $55,000 prize money swimming through the clear mountain waters on Saturday, Apr. 30 and Sunday, May 1.
Sponsored by the Bass Lake Chamber of Commerce, this fun and competitive fishing event kicks off the summer season the popular Bass Lake, located just 20 minutes south of Yosemite National Park, and just over an hour north of Fresno. Located in the beautiful Sierra National Forest, the scenery and plentiful activities make this a year-round popular retreat and the perfect location for a Fishing Derby event.
Grab your fishing poles and your friends and family, and head to Bass Lake for a day of fishing. One-thousand tagged rainbow trout will be released into the lake prior to the tournament, each worth varying amounts.
This year’s Derby will provide a lot of fun for the entire family and hopefully a few lucky fisherman will catch all or one of the special grand prize fish. Two grand prize fish are worth $10,000 each and one more is worth $5,000. In addition to the top three, there’s 150 trout worth $100 each and 847 trout worth $20 each.
