Volunteers Needed for 11th Annual Oakhurst Outpouring Community Christmas Dinner

OAKHURST — To help celebrate the holidays, Oakhurst Outpouring is putting together its 11th-annual traditional, all home-cooked Christmas dinner.

The popular gathering will take place Dec. 23, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Oakhurst Community Center.

Santa will be on hand at the free event with gifts for the children — and he also likes to give Christmas blessings by passing out gift-cards to random families. (Oakhurst Outpouring sometimes run short so any donations will be appreciated. Donations can be gift cards or unopened toys.)

Organizers plan to cook 20 turkeys and 18 hams and are still looking for volunteers to help with food prep.

Volunteers can cook some items at home and bring them in hot the day of the dinner or sign up for kitchen crew, servers or Santa’s helpers. All shifts will be in two-hour increments.

Special thanks to Tenaya Lodge for donating the funds to buy the food for the dinner — and to Starbucks for donating all the coffee and hot cocoa!

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Rebecca Kohout at 559-676-9101, or via e-mail at Oakhurstoutpouring@gmail.com.
