MADERA COUNTY — The victim of a crash that closed Highway 41 for two hours yesterday just south of Road 200 has been identified by the Madera County Sheriff’s Office as 51-year-old Michael Lee Fleming of Madera.
According to witnesses, Fleming struck the embankment on the right side of the road, then crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle reportedly suffered moderate injuries.
The accident is still under investigation.
