OAKHURST – Slim’s Koffee Shak, a home-grown mountain bistro, has been a vital part of North Fork for several years, serving up fresh food, much of it from local sources.
Now owner Scott Marsh is opening a second location in Oakhurst at 40879 Highway 41, in the storefront where The Grind coffee shop once lived in the Silver Creek Center.
To welcome the Oakhurst community to his new digs, Scott is throwing a party.
Everyone is invited to be fed and entertained at their Grand Opening this Friday, Apr. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. as they meet and greet the public and celebrate the opening of their new location.
An official Ribbon Cutting ceremony is scheduled 6 p.m. followed by live music, BBQ dinner, and fire dancers. In true Slim’s style, the BBQ dinner is on the house, served up by Bret at Supernaws. Good Medicine will provide the music, the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce will be selling beer and wine, and Mana Fire Dancers will light up the night after the sun goes down.
The Oakhurst Chamber see this as a great opportunity to celebrate a new Chamber member, and the rain and snow we have enjoyed this week!
If you’re wondering about the fare to be offered at Slim’s in the coming days and months, here’s just a quick taste of some past specials:
– How about Organic Black Bean Soup topped with house made Asadero Butter Cheese Cream, Red Onion and Peppers. Yum.
– Or maybe some “They’re Mine, Nachos” – Garlic Pulled Pork, Salvadorian Butter Cream, Chunky Asadero Queso, Buffalo Sauce, Green Onions, Grape Tomatoes and Jalapenos over Stone Ground Tortilla Chips.
– Maybe a serving of Slim’s Bacon Wieners – All beef hot dog, smoked bacon, grilled peppers and onions, Mexican queso, avocado, fresh onion and sriracha sauce.
– And if you haven’t had their Lumbershak Bagel, you haven’t lived…in the mountains – Cream cheese, avocado, smoked bacon, roasted garlic oil, and pickled jalapenos.
…and of course, koffee!
The North Fork community has been enjoying Scott’s eclectic menu and down-home service, and are happy to be sharing with their neighbors in Oakhurst.
