Sheriff’s Crime Log Through July 23

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, July 17, to Sunday, July 23, 2017:

North Fork burglary
On Monday, July 17 at 5:49 a.m. a burglary was reported in the 56000 block of Shinn Cabin Lane. During the investigation one female was taken into custody and booked at MCDOC. Case to be forwarded to the DA’s office.

Coarsegold landlord reports tenants’ theft of water
On Monday, July 17 at 3:42 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Seminole Ct. regarding a water theft. Reporting party advised water was shut off at the residence due to unpaid bill. Tenants illegally turned the water back on and used water. Report was written of incident.

Oakhurst found property
On Monday, July 17 at 8:49 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Oakhurst substation lobby regarding found property. Deputy took possession of property and the owner was contacted and advised via phone. Owner was traveling and requested the deputy to mail the property to her home. Property was booked into the Oakhurst substation.

Oakhurst theft of firearm
On Monday, July 17 at 4:57 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of Snowline Court regarding a theft of a firearm. There are no leads at this time. Case to be closed.

North Fork vandalism
On Monday, July 17 at 5:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Tera Tera Ranch Road regarding a vandalism. There are no suspect(s) or investigative leads in this case. Case closed.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Monday, July 17 at 8:40 p.m. a deputy conducted a warrant at the 31000 block of N. Dome Drive. The suspect had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. He was transported to Madera Department of Corrections without incident. A report was written for documentation purposes.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Monday, July 17 at 8:18 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 40000 block of CA-49 regarding a report of a male causing a disturbance outside the business. During the investigation the male was located in front of another business on Junction Drive. The male had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, slurred speech and upon contact appeared to be asleep in front of the business. The male woke up and was either unwilling or unable to identify himself. He was placed into custody and transported to the Madera County Jail. This case has been forwarded to the Madera County DA’s Office for the filing of related charge.

Raymond theft
On Tuesday, July 18 at 8:52 a.m. a deputy took a report in the 25000 block of Road 407 regarding a theft. No suspect leads or evidence. Case closed due to lack of investigative leads.

Raymond report of sex offense
On Tuesday, July 18 at 3:27 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a confidential address in Raymond regarding a sex offense report. An investigation was completed and a report was written. Case was forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division for further follow up.

Coarsegold purse theft
On Tuesday, July 18 at 3:19 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a theft of a purse. There was a possible suspect identified who lives in Fresno. Forward to detectives for follow up.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Tuesday, July 18 at 4:52 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Fresno Dome Trailhead area on Road 632, in Oakhurst, regarding a possibly suicidal male. The male was found to be a danger to himself and placed on a mental health evaluation hold. He was transported down Road 632 to an ambulance who then transported him to a hospital for treatment and evaluation. This case has been closed.

North Fork warrant citation
On Tuesday, July 18 at 10:58 p.m. a deputy was on scene of an incident near Mammoth Pool Road when a vehicle came into the area of the incident. The parties were contacted and the passenger was found to have a misdemeanor warrant out of Kings County. The subject was arrested, cited and released on scene for the warrant. Case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Wednesday, July 19 at 1:49 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to a vehicle vandalism. No suspect leads. Close the case.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Wednesday, July 19 at midnight, a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop in the area of CA-41 and Road 426 which resulted in the driver being cited on a Madera County arrest warrant. Close the case.

North Fork drug paraphernalia
On Thursday, July 20 at 1:04 a.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on Road 226 and Road 224. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was cited and released. All evidence was booked at the sheriff’s office. Case forwarded to the DA’s office.

Oakhurst suspended drivers license, vehicle impounded
On Thursday, July 20 at 9:36 a.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop in the area of CA 41 and Golden Oak Loop. The driver had a suspended California Drivers License. She was cited and the vehicle impounded. Forward the case to the DA.

North Fork vandalism
On Thursday, July 20 at 10:06 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to take a phone report regarding a vandalism that occurred in the 57000 block of Road 225. The deputy contacted the reporting party and a report was filed. Case should be closed due to lack of leads.

Oakhurst assault with a brick
On Thursday, July 20 at 12:33 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst Community Park in regards to an assault with a brick. A report taken. The victim wanted nothing done. A report taken for documentation purposes.

North Fork unlawful use of credit card
On Thursday, July 20 at 1:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 56000 Wild Plum Lane regarding unlawful use of a credit card. The victim requested a report for documentation. Refer report closed.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Thursday, July 20 at 2:52 p.m. a deputy dispatched to the area of Civic Circle / CA 41 in regards to a female who wanted to kill herself. The female was contacted and deemed to be a danger to herself. A protective hold placed and the female was transported to the hospital. Close the case.

Coarsegold disturbance between two juveniles
On Thursday, July 20 at 3:16 p.m. a deputy took a report from a resident of the 46000 block of Skyline Ridge Court regarding an incident between two juveniles. Report taken for documentation. Forward report to detectives.

Oakhurst apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound
On Friday, July 21 at 2:11 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 43000 block of E. Sugar Pine Drive regarding a subject who had made suicidal statements, and left the residence with a firearm. While checking the area, the subject driving the RP’s vehicle was located, but would not yield to deputies and a short pursuit was initiated. While deputies were pursuing the vehicle, it went off the roadway stopped in the trees. It appears the subject had died from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Friday, July 21 at 6:11 p.m. a deputy responded to a residence in the 31000 block of Brave Eagle Court regarding a female with a history of mental health issues. The female was placed on a mental health evaluation hold. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst dog bite
On Friday, July 21 at 12:31 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Road 425A regarding a dog bite. The victim did not wish medical attention and the dog owner was contacted. Report for documentation purposes only.

Coarsegold cell phone theft
On Friday, July 21 at 12:10 p.m. a deputy took a telephonic report from a citizen of the 7000 block of Wolters Ave in Fresno regarding a theft of a cell phone at a casino. There are suspect leads in this case and the investigation is ongoing.

North Fork assault
On Friday, July 21 at 12:13 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 30000 block of Tera Tera Ranch Road regarding an assault. A report taken and evidence collected. The victim wanted only the incident documented. Close the case.

North Fork drug arrest and citation
On Friday, July 21 at 1:32 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of Weatherly Lane cross of Road 222 which resulted in the driver being arrested and cited out on drug offences. Forward the case to the Madera DA for charges.

Oakhurst wallet found
On Friday, July 21 at 2:43 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Liberty Drive regarding a found wallet. Report was taken and wallet was booked into safekeeping.

Oakhurst fraud
On Friday, July 21 at 4:40 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the block of 51000 Montgomery Drive regarding possible fraud. Report taken for documentation. Refer to detectives for follow up.

Oakhurst theft
On Saturday, July 22 at 11:51 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 41000 block of CA-41 regarding a theft. Case should be closed at this time due to lack of leads.

Bass Lake vessel operator arrested
On Saturday, July 22 at 11:05 a.m. a deputy self-initiated a vessel stop on Bass Lake for various Harbor and Navigation safety violations subsequently resulting in an arrest for operating a vessel while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and negligent operations endangering life and limb. Subject was arrested and booked at Madera County Department of Corrections.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Saturday, July 22 at 12:21 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Indian Oak Way on a welfare check. EMS later transported a female subject to the hospital for a mental health evaluation hold.

Oakhurst domestic violence and emergency protection order
On Saturday, July 22 at 2:04 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 51000 block of Montgomery Road in regards to a female breaking items. A report taken for domestic violence and an emergency order of protection granted and served. Forward the case to the DA for review of charges.

North Fork Coroner’s report
On Saturday, July 22 at 7:53 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 34000 block of Wintergreen Loop regarding a welfare check. Upon arrival an investigation ensued to which the subject was located deceased. Subject was turned over to A and R Mortuary.

North Fork missing hiker
On Sunday, July 23 at 10:52 a.m. deputies received report of a missing adult hiker in the area of Isberg Trail, near Cora Lakes in the Sierra National Forest.

North Fork marijuana cultivation
On Sunday, July 23 at 8 a.m. a deputy assisted another agency regarding suspicious activity on USFS 8S09. Two male subjects were arrested by other agency (USFS) for marijuana cultivation and transported the Oakhurst office for to be interviewed. Once at the office deputy assisted other agency with translation of interview.

North Fork criminal threats
On Sunday, July 23 at 7 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 56000 block of Road 200 regarding a report of criminal threats. An adult male was arrested and booked for felony PC 422. Report to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Oakhurst theft of a purse
On Sunday, July 23 at 8:35 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Royal Oaks Drive regarding a theft of a purse. There are no suspect(s) or investigative leads in the case. Case closed.
