MADERA COUNTY – An armed man wearing a Santa hat robbed two convenience stores Saturday night, Dec. 15, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
The armed robber first held up a store in the city, then moved on to rob a second outside of town. One of those stores captured the crook on video.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is releasing surveillance video of one of the robberies, hoping someone can identify the bandit.According to deputies, the suspect appears to be a Hispanic male, in his early 20’s. He was donning a red Santa hat and wearing a black sweatshirt, and was last seen fleeing in a dark colored Cadillac.
Anyone who may have information about the man dubbed the Santa Bandit is urged to call authorities or CRIME STOPPERS at 559-498-STOP. An anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers could be worth up to a thousand dollars.
