MINARETS — “The students in Key Club are amazing, responsible, and caring,” says Michael Vaughan, Key Club adviser at Minarets. “They are truly selfless and will be great leaders one day. Last year, as a club, they outperformed other clubs within our district.”

Key Club is a student led organization in high school, affiliated with Kiwanis, that is international and self-governing. Known locally for appearances at popular fundraisers like Relay For Life, car shows and town rodeos, Key Club was first founded in 1925, making it the oldest and largest service program for students in the United States. Key Club members build upon their schools and communities, while improving themselves through honest work.

Alongside Minarets, other clubs in our district are that of Buchanan, Clovis East, North, and West, Liberty, Madera and Madera South, and Yosemite.

Minarets Key Club had the most Corgi Points in the school year of 2015-16, winning First Place for most funds raised for charity, taking home the UNICEF Award, and being recognized as the club with the most service hours.

Key Club encourages other people to come and join so more people can help the community. It can assist with success in terms of college scholarships by providing experience with students and the community living and working together. Key Club’s goal is to get leaders to help and train others, as it teaches leadership through service to others.

Key Club does a good job shaping the community and its members, helping individuals form their future. Key Club helps people see the world a different way and continuously benefits the community.
