OAKHURST — A memorial service and reception are planned for retired firefighter and beloved community member Kenneth Jordan, on Sunday, Dec. 11. The memorial is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Mountain Christian Center, located at 40299 CA-49 in Oakhurst. Following the memorial, guests are invited to a reception at Sierra Pines Church, located at 40855 Covey Court in Oakhurst.
Ken passed away suddenly on Nov. 27 in Coarsegold.
According to the memorial invitation to the community, Ken’s wishes include specific requests.
“If Kenny has ever given you a card or a letter, please bring a copy of one,” reads the notice. “If he has given you a flower, please bring one for his girls.”
Food to share at the reception is potluck, with guidelines as follow: Last names starting with letters A through M are asked to bring savory finger foods. Last names starting with letters N through Z are asked to bring sweet finger foods.
All service professionals are requested to honor Kenny by wearing uniforms, and Hotshots are asked to wear their colors.
