MARIPOSA — A single-vehicle accident on Highway 140 between Yosemite and Mariposa has claimed the life of the driver.
At about 7:45 a.m. this morning, a 72-year-old Mariposa man was eastbound on Highway 140 about 2-1/2 miles east of Briceburg Road when he lost traction on the icy road, according to CHP.

The driver was extricated from the truck and transported to John C. Fremont Hospital in Mariposa where he was pronounced deceased.
There were no passengers in the vehicle, and the accident is under investigation.
