OAKHURST – Traffic was snarled for over an hour today at the Bass Lake turnoff north of Oakhurst when two vehicles collided in front of the Mountain House.
At 2:35 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, Forrest Reyes, 27, of Oakhurst, was southbound on Highway 41 in a 2004 Honda Civic when he made a turn into the Mountain House parking lot directly in front of another vehicle.
He was struck by a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Cheryl Liston, 60, of Ahwahnee who was northbound on Highway 41.
Liston suffered major injuries and was transported by Sierra Ambulance to the back parking lot at Vons where she was airlifted by SkyLife air ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center.
Reyes suffered minor injuries.
The accident is under investigation, and alcohol was not a factor, according to the CHP.
