Madera County Sheriff’s Local Log Through Feb. 25

MADERA COUNTY– Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Feb. 19 to Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018.

Coarsegold possession of a stolen vehicle and narcotics
On Monday, Feb. 19 at 2:04 a.m. a deputy contacted a male on Road 417/Chukchansi Road. During the contact an adult male on probation out of Mariposa County was arrested and booked for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and narcotics. Case report was written and filed with the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Monday, Feb. 19 at 3:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of a female subject making suicidal statements. The subject was placed on mental health hold and transported to Madera Community Hospital. A report was written for documentation purposes and case was closed.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Monday, Feb. 19 at 5:34 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the area of CA 41 / Civic Circle regarding a subject on the ground next to the roadway. The subject was contacted and determined to be public intoxicated, then arrested and booked into jail. Forward the case to the DA for charges.

North Fork burglary
On Monday, Feb. 19 at 12:55 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 60000 block of Road 225 regarding a burglary. A report was taken and evidence collected.

Coarsegold public intoxication
On Monday, Feb. 19 at 4:05 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 30000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway for an intoxicated subject. Upon contact with the subject he was placed under arrest for public intoxication. The subject was transported and booked into Madera County DOC.

Oakhurst possession of stolen vehicle
On Monday, Feb. 19 at 9:49 p.m. a deputy contacted a male in a vehicle in the Old Mill Shopping Center parking lot. During the contact an adult male on state parole was arrested and booked into MCDOC for being in possession of a stolen vehicle out of Colusa County. A case report was written and filed with the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Coarsegold danger to self
On Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 9:39 a.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a public health call. A protective hold was placed and the subject was transported for treatment by a mental health professional.

Oakhurst theft
On Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 11:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the Oakhurst substation in regards to a theft that occurred in the 49000 block of Canoga Drive. A report was taken.

North Fork disturbance involving a firearm
On Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 12:44 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 32000 block of Road 221 for an unknown disturbance involving a firearm. Upon arrival, deputies interviewed the alleged victim who refused to provide a statement as to what happened. Photos were taken of the injury.

Oakhurst vandalism/assaut
On Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 3:40 p.m. deputies responded to the area of the 41000 block of Highway 49 for a vandalism/assault report. Upon arrival the suspect was located and placed under arrest for vandalism and assault. The suspect was transported and booked into Madera County DOC. A report was written and forwarded to the District Attorney’s office.

Coarsegold theft
On Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 7:42 p.m. a deputy was dispatched for a telephonic report regarding a mail theft that occurred at the 28000 block of Yosemite Springs Parkway. There are no suspect(s) or investigative leads in this case. Case is closed.

Oakhurst report of possible fight involving guns at the park
On Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 8:05 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible fight involving firearms that was supposed to take place in Oakhurst Community Park. Deputies were dispatched to that park as a preventative measure and no fight was observed or reported.

North Fork unattended death
On Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 10:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a report of an unattended death. This case has been forwarded to the Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Coroner’s Office for review.

Coarsegold theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 12:47 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a phone report of a theft from the area of 47260 Miwoc Avenue. A report was taken.

Coarsegold theft
On Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 12:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a theft of a bag. An investigation was conducted and two suspects were identified. The suspects were later located at the scene, and the property was later located. Both suspects were booked into Madera County Department of Corrections without incident. Case forwarded to Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges.

Oakhurst found property
On Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 1:12 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-49 for found property. The property was recovered and booked as safekeeping at the Oakhurst substation.

Coarsegold trespassing, person under the influence of a stimulant
On Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 5:17 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence at the 46000 block of Lonview Lane West in regards to a trespassing. During the contact an adult female was arrested and booked into MCDOC for being under the influence of a stimulant. A case report was written and filed with the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Oakhurst missing juvenile
On Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 6:29 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding a report of a runaway juvenile. Prior to running away from home, the juvenile made threats to kill his mother and his brother in their sleep. A search of the area met with negative results. The juvenile was later entered into the N.C.I.C Missing and Unidentified Persons System. The juvenile was ultimately located and removed from N.C.I.C. Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Thursday, Feb. 22 at 6:41 a.m. a deputy responded to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding an alarm for a vacant building. The deputy located a broken window on the south side of the building. No one was located in the building, no property was taken. Case closed.

Oakhurst report of assault 
On Thursday, Feb. 22 at 11:39 a.m. a deputy responded in regards to an assault that occurred in November 2017. The victim was not willing to provide a statement. The deputy interviewed the witness and determined there was not sufficient information for the elements of an assault. Report taken for information only.

Ahwahnee report of domestic disturbance
On Thursday, Feb. 22 at 6:20 p.m. deputies were dispatched regarding a domestic disturbance. It was determined that no crime had occurred at this incident. Both parties were separated and a report taken. Report written for documentation purposes.

Coarsegold theft
On Thursday, Feb. 22 at 8:05 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a theft of items from a vehicle. There was no evidence at this time. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst family disturbance
On Friday, Feb. 23 at 6:18 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a family disturbance. A report was written and charges filed.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Friday, Feb. 23 at 9:20 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Road 425B regarding vandalism. A report was written, evidence obtained and case closed.

Oakhurst theft
On Friday, Feb. 23 at 9:47 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 49 regarding a stolen phone. A report was written, property recovered, and case closed.

Oakhurst theft of clothes
On Friday, Feb. 23 at 5:05 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding theft of clothes. A report written and case closed.

Coarsegold assist to Fresno Police re alleged child abuse
On Saturday, Feb. 24 at 11:06 a.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding follow-up for the Fresno Police Department on an
alleged child abuse case.  A report was written, evidence obtained, and case forwarded to the Fresno Police Department.

Oakhurst fraud
On Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2:37 p.m. deputies took a call regarding a fraud that occurred at the 39000 block of CA-41.

Coarsegold disturbance
On Saturday, Feb. 24 at 9:41 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a subject causing a disturbance. The involved subject was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported to a hospital for a mental health evaluation. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst burglary
On Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2:11 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Junction Drive regarding a vehicle burglary. Due to the lack of investigative leads, suspect(s), and witnesses, the case was closed.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2:54 p.m. deputies were dispatched to 40000 block of CA-49 regarding two subjects panhandling for money. During the investigation, one of the subjects was intoxicated and taken into custody. He was transported to Madera County DOC. A report was written to document the arrest. Forward to the DA for prosecution.

Oakhurst theft
On Sunday, Feb. 25 at 4:43 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Victoria Lane in regards to a theft from an unlocked vehicle. Case suspended pending review of surveillance footage.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Sunday, Feb. 25 at 6:18 p.m. deputies responded for a subject possibly being a danger to himself. Upon contact
it was determined the subject was a danger to himself and he was placed on a mental health evaluation hold. Subject was transported to Madera Community Hospital by Sierra Ambulance.

Raymond unresponsive male deceased
On Sunday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a residence regarding an unresponsive male. Cal Fire and ambulance personnel were administering CPR, but their efforts met with negative results. The male was determined
to be deceased. This case has been forwarded to the Sheriff’s Detective Division, Chief Deputy Coroner’s Office for follow up investigation.
