Madera County Sheriff’s Crime Log Through Apr. 2

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Mar. 27 to Sunday, Apr. 2, 2017:

Oakhurst found property
On Monday, Mar. 27 at 10:13 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Road 427 regarding a report of found property. During the investigation the found property was collected and later logged for safe keeping. Case to be closed.

Oakhurst nude photos on campus
On Monday, Mar. 27 at 10:39 a.m. a deputy responded to Road 427 regarding nude photos of a student circulating on campus. During the investigation a possible juvenile suspect was identified. This case will remain open for further investigation.

Oakhurst juvenile selling narcotics on campus
On Monday, Mar. 27 at 11:48 a.m. a deputy responded to School Road regarding a student selling prescription medication on campus. During the investigation a juvenile suspect was taken into custody and the District Attorney will be reviewing charges against another. This case will be forwarded to the DA’s office for review.

Coarsegold fraud
On Monday, Mar. 27 at 6:07 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to Deep Forest Lane regarding a report of fraud. An investigation was done and a report was written. The victim did not wish to press charges and wanted documentation only. Case closed.

Oakhurst warrant citation
On Tuesday, Mar. 28, at 1:41 p.m., a deputy contacted an adult male with two active misdemeanor warrants, while on patrol on Highway 41. The male subject was cited and released.

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Tuesday, Mar. 28, at 3:34 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to CA-41 for an intoxicated male that was refusing to leave. An arrest was made. A report was taken.

North Fork warrant citation
On Wednesday, Mar. 29 at 2:13 p.m., a deputy was in the North Fork area and contacted an individual who had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. The individual was issued a citation to appear in court.

Oakhurst citation and vehicle storage
On Wednesday, Mar. 29 at 3:53 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the driver being cited for outstanding arrest warrants and the vehicle stored. Forward the citations to traffic division for direct filing.

Coarsegold mail theft
On Wednesday, Mar. 29 at 4:34 p.m. deputies took a mail theft report that occurred in the area of the mail box clusters in Yosemite Lakes Park. The case is being closed until further investigative leads arise.

Oakhurst vandalism
On Wednesday, Mar. 29 at 10:37 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to River Park Road regarding vandalism. The victim knows the suspect and will support prosecution when he is apprehended

North Fork citation and vehicle storage
On Thursday, Mar. 30 at 12:02 a.m. a deputy conducted a routine traffic enforcement stop in the area of Road 200 and Road 222 which resulted in the driver being cited on an outstanding arrest warrant and the vehicle stored for expired vehicle registration.

North Fork traffic stop and narcotics in sock
On Thursday, Mar. 30 at midnight, a deputy conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Road 200 and Road 224 which resulted in the driver being arrested and booked on an out of state arrest warrant. At the jail the arrestee was found to have smuggled narcotics in his sock and was booked on the charge of bringing narcotics into a detention facility.

Coarsegold domestic disturbance
On Friday, Mar. 31 at 6:11 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a confidential location regarding a domestic disturbance. Fresno County Sheriff office took a courtesy report report due to the victim being out of county.

Oakhurst burglary
On Friday, Mar. 31 at midnight a deputy was dispatched to CA-41 regarding a burglary to a business. The victim requested a report for documentation. Due to the lack of investigative leads, witnesses, and suspect(s), the case is closed.

Oakhurst Coroner’s report
On Friday, Mar. 31 at 2:50 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to CA-49 for a Coroner’s case. A report was written and forwarded to the Chief Coroner’s office for follow up.

Coarsegold DUI and public intoxication
On Saturday, Apr. 1 at 2:23 a.m. a deputy conducted a vehicle stop in the Meadow Ridge Road area. An investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested for driving under the influence, and the passenger was arrested for drunk in public. A report was written and the case forwarded to the DA’s office for charges.

Oakhurst storage facility burglary
On Saturday, Apr. 1 at 11:13 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to Greenwood Way regarding several storage units that were reported to have been broken into. The owner of the storage unit was contacted via phone. The owner had a friend arrive to secure the units. A report was taken and follow-up on video surveillance is required. Forward to detectives.

Coarsegold pursuit, crash, DUI
On Saturday, Apr. 1 at 2:13 a solo vehicle collision occurred after a deputy briefly pursued an intoxicated driver in the area of CA 41 and Road 417. The driver was arrested and booked for DUI and felony evading arrest, while the passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The case will be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges filed.

DUI Arrest After Crash On Highway 41

Coarsegold danger to self
On Saturday, Apr. 1 at 2:38 p.m. a deputy responded to Savage Road for a suicidal subject. The subject was contacted and placed on a mental health evaluation hold. The subject was transported to Madera Community Hospital for the evaluation.

Raymond fatal solo traffic collision
On Saturday, Apr. 1, deputies were dispatched to a Coroner’s case regarding a subject who had been ejected from a vehicle in a traffic collision in the area of Road 600 and Road 415. Upon arrival it was determined the subject had succumbed to his injuries. The case will be forwarded to the Madera County Chief Deputy Coroner.

Ahwahnee Man Dies In Single Vehicle Accident

Oakhurst public intoxication
On Saturday, Apr. 1 at deputies responded to CA-41 regarding a report of an intoxicated subject. The subject was contacted and it was determined that he was unable to care for himself. He was taken into custody and booked into DOC on public intoxication charges.

Oakhurst dog bite
On Sunday, Apr. 2 at 10:44 a.m. a deputy responded to Washburn Lane regarding the report of a dog bite. The deputy was able to capture the dog and transport it to the Bass Lake animal control office.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Sunday, Apr. 2 at 7:59 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to CA-49 regarding two male subjects involved in a verbal altercation. During the incident a taser was deployed on a male subject who was resisting deputies’ commands. The male subject was later admitted to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
