BASS LAKE — Organizers behind the monthly charitable dinner, Helping One Woman (HOW) have announced that the August dinner will benefit Holly Johnson. The event is set for Miller’s Landing on Wedneday, Aug. 17, at 6 p.m. and will feature a special $11 tri-tip dinner just for the occasion.
“Holly’s husband of 39 years, Marion Johnson Jr., passed away earlier this summer.” explains her sponsor Anne Melrose. “They have lived in North Fork for 14 years after moving up from Clovis where they ran a riding stable for 12 years.”
Holly lives with her three children: Jay, Felicity and Nayeli, says Anne.
“She has continued to work hard all summer, managing the kitchen at Miller’s Landing through all of this. It’s time for Holly to put her feet up and let us cook for her for a change! This is the call to ‘Help One Woman!’”
Organizers offer their thanks in advance for passing the word by sharing the event and attending with your friends. If you have donations for the prize drawing, please let the HOW team know. Dinner includes tri-tip, beans, salad, roll and drink. RSVP to Anne Melrose at (559) 676-7636.
Those participating in the HOW benefit dinner place $10 or more toward a contribution for Holly, and pay for their own dinners. Proceeds from the evening go directly to the month’s recipient — Holly for August -— at the end of the evening.
Men, women, and children are all welcome. The $10 suggested donation at the door affords each participant a door prize ticket. 100% of funds raised go directly to Holly.
