Help For Homeowners With Dead Trees

MARIPOSA —  The Mariposa County Office of Emergency Services will be hosting a Tree Mortality Funding Fair on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Mariposa Board of Supervisors Chambers, 5100 Bullion Street.

This will be an all-encompassing event to connect land/homeowners with vital resources to assist in the mitigation of dead or dying trees.

Agencies on site to make presentations and answer questions will include Cal Fire, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Mariposa County Fire Safe Council, Sierra Nevada Conservancy, the U.S. Forest Service and PG&E.

Topics will include:

  • Cost Sharing Programs
  • Obtaining Cost Share Funding
  • Defensible Space
  • Tree Hazard Abatement
  • Chipping Program
  • Homeowner Insurance
  • Dealing With Tree Mortality
  • Forest Health Management

This is an opportunity to have your questions answered and get more information on tree mortality and what resources may be available for private landowners.
