COARSEGOLD – Yosemite Lakes Owners Association (YLOA) and Yosemite Lakes Community Church have scheduled a timely Town Hall Meeting on El Niño preparation. The meeting is open to anyone in the greater foothills community, and is set for Saturday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the YLOA Clubhouse.
A “monster” El Niño event has the potential to result in disastrous flooding even in the Sierra foothills, says state engineering geologist and emergency response expert John Kirk, a resident of YLP.
Kirk will talk to foothill residents about the weather pattern and ways to prepare homes and property for an unusually wet winter. YLOA’s security chief Tammie D’Amore will explain what YLOA is doing to prepare and outline steps homeowners can take now, in advance of the anticipated precipitation.
The public is strongly encouraged to attend. The YLP Clubhouse is located at 30250 Yosemite Springs Parkway.
