Central Cal Animal Disaster Team Still Busy On Detwiler Fire

OAKHURST — The Central California Animal Disaster Team (CCADT) remains deployed for evacuations due to the Detwiler Fire.

The small animal shelters are still set up at the EV Free Church on School Road and Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church on Highway 41 in Oakhurst.

CCADT supply trailers are located at the EV Free Church, 50443 Road 427 in Oakhurst

CCADT is currently caring for 70 dogs, 62 cats and 7 birds at the EV Free Church; and 31 dogs, 35 cats, 3 birds and 1 duck at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church.

Over 25 CCADT volunteers have already, or will soon respond to the evacuation locations. They have been through the training required to deploy and if you would like to join the team, please visit CCADT.ORG

Donations are still needed, and general monetary donations are most important at this point. In-kind donations cannot be taken because the shelter needs to remain mobile.

To donate please visit: http://www.ccadt.org/donate.html

Please work with emergency responders and follow all guidelines. It is important to follow the evacuation guidelines with your pets. Safety is the number one priority for everyone.

Please visit the CCADT website for help on evacuating with your pet and for items that should be kept in your pet’s go-bag.
