YUSD Board Selects New Coarsegold Elementary Principal

Yosemite Unified School District announces new Coarsegold Elementary School Principal for the 2023/2024 school year.

COARSEGOLD — Dr. Dannette Bryson comes to Yosemite Unified with 30 years of education experience, serving most of those years in San Joaquin Valley school districts. She began her career as an elementary teacher in the Clovis Unified School District for nine years. She then served as an Academic Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, and then Director of Curriculum and Instruction. She has served as Principal for 15 of those 30 years.

Dr. Bryson is a Fresno native who attended and graduated from Fresno schools before earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, Fresno; a Master of Science Degree in Education Administration from National University, Fresno; and a Doctorate of Education Degree in Education Administration with an Emphasis in Effective Schools. She wrote her dissertation on “The Effects of Teacher Participation in Professional Learning Communities.”

Dr. Bryson is engaged to her fiancé, Miles, and has four children: Tyler, Jordan, Zack, and Zoie. Dr. Bryson enjoys spending time hiking in the mountains whenever she can. Dr. Bryson states, “I am so excited to join the Yosemite Unified team and serve as Coarsegold Elementary School principal. I can’t wait to meet the students and families that I will have the honor of serving.”

Dr. Bryson is an awesome instructional leader, who knows how to develop positive and meaningful relationships with all school stakeholders to help students achieve academic success and continuous academic growth.
