Wilderness Pot Grow Eradicated Near Bagby

MARIPOSA COUNTY – Another illegal marijuana grow was eradicated on Friday, Sept. 27, in the Hell’s Hollow area near Bagby in Mariposa County.

Mariposa County Sheriff Deputies, assisted by Yosemite National Park Rangers and a Cal Fire Prevention Officer, descended on a garden which appeared to be tied to a Drug Trafficking Operation (DTO), possibly a Mexican-based Cartel.

Some 697 mature marijuana plants were located and collected by law enforcement. A helicopter assisting the officers, long-lined the marijuana plants to awaiting vehicles.

The fleeing men left behind a large military style bag containing clothing, tools, food and beer.

Detectives arranged for an over-flight and located the marijuana garden from the air. This garden is in the general area of a larger marijuana garden that was eradicated earlier this year.

No arrests have been made.
