Wasuma School Christmas Tree Merriment

AHWAHNEE – Sleigh bells are starting to ring while Wasuma School prepares to host its 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lot on campus for just three days, so you better watch out!

Pre-orders are being taken through Dec. 3 for trees and wreaths, and the lot will be open Thursday, Dec. 5 through Saturday, Dec. 7, with varying hours.

According to school secretary Linda Brooks, this is a fun, festive family event, with a special tree-lighting and a very distinguished visitor from the far North, and it’s all for a good cause: education.

Pre-ordered trees need to be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 5, between 9 – 10 a.m., before the lot officially opens for new business. Organizers assure customers that they’ll still have plenty of beautiful trees and wreaths for those who don’t pre-order.

The on-campus lot opens to the public for shopping on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The school will sell both Douglas and Noble fir trees in the range of tabletop size at just 24 inches and big-room stunners 9 feet tall.

Wasuma Tree Lot 2013On Friday, Dec. 6, the lot is open from 4 – 8:30 p.m. and organizers including the Wasuma PTA are expecting Santa to visit at 6 p.m., when they’ll also have an illumination opportunity, aka: tree lighting.

The usual suspects from PTA will be serving cookies and hot chocolate; they say donations are always appreciated, since this whole operation is a fundraiser for Wasuma School, part of the Bass Lake Unified School District (BLUSD).

Finally, on Saturday, Dec. 7, the Wasuma Christmas Tree lot will be open once again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information contact Carey Smith at (559) 760-6939. After all, you want to buy your Christmas Tree from a Wildcat, don’t you?
