MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various operations on State Route 49 next week in Mariposa County.
Work is scheduled to be performed as follows
Route 49
• Single-lane closure from Varain Road to Route 140 for guardrail work beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18, through Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Single-lane closure from Moccasin Switchback Road to Bear Valley Road for crack sealing beginning Wednesday, Jan. 19, through Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Route 140
• One-way traffic control from Smith Road to Triangle Road for tree work beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18, through Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• One-way traffic control from 11th Street to 12th Street for curb, gutter and sidewalk work beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18, through Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Mariposa Pedestrian Safety Project.
A 72-hour-lane closure scheduled next week at 7th and 8th streets for crosswalk construction related to this project has been postponed until further notice.
Motorists should expect 5- to 10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
