OAKHURST — Come boo at the villain, cheer for the hero, and sigh at the heroine as the summer melodrama Egad, The Woman In White continues at the Golden Chain Theatre.
Penned by Tim Kelly, this laugh-oriented, old-fashioned melodrama is wild, fast, and funny, say producers. It features a hilariously disreputable villain who dispatches his adversaries with nefarious ease, seals his wife in a madhouse to steal her vast fortune, and battles a wicked countess in one of the most uproarious fight scenes ever staged.
Abandoned wives, insolent servants, lawyers, hypochondriacs, and manly drawing masters parade across the stage in gales of comedy. The show is directed by Cynthia McFann, rated G for general audiences.
