Soroptimist Chili Cook-Off Coming to Oakhurst This Saturday

OAKHURST — Soroptimist International of The Sierras will hold their 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off Fall fundraiser event Saturday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Oakhurst Community Center. Proceeds benefit community projects and scholarships to local women and girls.

Join them for a night of good food, live music by The Whiskey Creek Band, beer and wine from the South Gate Brewing Company, raffles and family fun.

Local restaurants, chefs and groups will compete for this year’s title of Best Chili in the community and you can be the judge. There is now a People’s Choice award as well as a panel of judges.

Only $20 per meal ticket includes contestant chili sampling and all you can eat Soroptimist famous chili, toppings, chili dogs, Frito chili boats, cornbread! Dessert includes chocolate chip cookies and an ice cream cup. Also included with the meal ticket is a drink and raffle ticket.

Child meals are $5 for age 10 and under. Under 3 are free.

Purchase your ticket before they are sold out from Soroptimist members or online 24/7 at soroptimistchilicookoff2019.eventbrite.com.

If still available, tickets will also be sold at the door.

Silent Auction items including a Well Pressure Pump donated by Mark Wallo Pump Service, dining room table and chairs set with hutch donated by a private group, a generator donated by American Tree Medic and so much more!

We will also have over 60+ fantastic raffle prizes including wine baskets, eotel stays, Entertainment packages, Santa Barbara Zoo tickets, Monterey Bay Aquarium tickets, Golden Chain tickets, Cheesecake Factory Gift Card, dinner and movie pass Gift Basket, home decor items, kitchen gift baskets, salon packages, gym passes and pet groomer gift card.

The Chili Cook-off provides funds for many groups within our community such as the Dream It – Be It conference for high school girls, high school scholarships, Live Your Dream Awards for continuing education for women in college and other local community projects.

Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization working to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Founded in 1921, Soroptimist has approximately 95,000 members in 120 countries and territories. Soroptimist members belong to local clubs which determine community focus projects and programs in addition to supporting organization-wide programs, all of which benefit women and girls.
