SCCCD Celebrates Inductees With Wall of Honor Ceremony

FRESNOState Center Community College District honored the 2022 Wall of Honor inductees during a special ceremony Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at Fresno City College in the Old Administration Building.

Congratulations to the SCCCD Wall of Honor inductees.

This year’s inductees include Gregory A. Barfield, Dr. Marvita Gowdy, and Karla D. Kirk.

Gregory A. Barfield is the Assistant City Manager, Office of the Mayor and City Manager for the City of Fresno.

Dr. Marvita Gowdy is currently an English writing instructor at Fresno
City College and California State University, Fresno.

Karla D. Kirk is Lead Faculty of the African American Studies Program at Fresno City College.

The Wall of Honor was originally established at the Old Administration Building but was later moved to the African American Historical and Cultural Museum. This is the 24th induction ceremony of the Wall of Honor which is sponsored by State Center Community College District and recognizes the contributions of outstanding African Americans.

Those inducted must have either attended or worked on behalf of State Center Community College District at one of its colleges, centers or district office. The District includes Fresno City College, Reedley College, Clovis Community College, Madera Community College, Madera Community College at Oakhurst and the Career & Technology Center.
