Rotary Offering Free Online Healthcare Training for Volunteers Wishing to Assist in Pandemic

OAKHURST — Rotary International, through Volunteer Surge, is offering free, online training designed for volunteers who wish to assist professional healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic — either from their home or in the field.

This free, online training program is open to any adult age 18+ and requires no special skills.

The training is adapted from Certified Nursing Assistant online course work and includes educational videos, self quizzes and checkpoints.

Sign up now! Training begins tomorrow, Wednesday, April 8.

Once trained, volunteers can then choose to apply their new skills by providing either phone or online support from their home, or by assisting healthcare workers in the field.

Special software will assign volunteers to individuals in need of check-ins, followups, and other minor health issues.
