Repairs Complete, Highway 140 Opens With No Restrictions

YOSEMITE – Park officials have announced that repairs to the power lines along Highway 140 (El Portal Road) into Yosemite National Park have been completed and the highway will be open on Sunday with no restrictions.

The closures on Friday and Saturday were necessary to allow crews access to replace the high voltage power lines that service Yosemite Valley and were burned and damaged during the Ferguson Fire.

Repairs were expected to last through Sunday, Aug. 25, at 4 p.m., however it was announced at 10 p.m. on Saturday that the work to restore full commercial power to Yosemite Valley has been completed ahead of schedule.
