Public Invited To North Fork CDC Annual Meeting

NORTH FORK — “Gaining Momentum” will be the theme of the North Fork Community Development Council’s annual membership meeting on Monday, Mar. 28, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Rancheria Community Center.

All residents of the community are invited to attend for updates the progress of development at the old Mill Site and expectations for 2016.

Community members will be invited to participate in an exercise to help set the goals for the CDC for the next five years.

Speakers will present the progress on several projects.

  • Updates on Madera County District 5 projects by District 5 Supervisor Tom Wheeler
  • Upcoming construction of the biomass plant will by discussed by Greg Stangl of Phoenix Energy
  • Tribal projects by Paul Irwin, Executive Director at North Fork Rancheria Indian Housing Authority
  • Potentials for a log deck for beetle-kill Ponderosa pine trees by Elissa Brown, Sierra Nevada Conservancy

Two CDC board members-at-large will be elected at this meeting, and the Board will have its monthly meeting after the progress report by the speakers. Community members are welcome to observe.

Refreshments by the Women’s Club will be served at 5 p.m. and the meeting will start at 5:30 p.m.

This is an opportunity for the North Fork community to support the NFCDC by becoming members and being involved in the discussions. There will be ample time for questions to be asked of each presenter.

The North Fork Rancheria Community Center is located at 56900 Kunugib Way. From downtown North Fork, Follow the Manzanita Lake Road (Road 222), turn left on Wah Up Way, and take the first left at Kunugib Way.
