MARIPOSA — Join friends and neighbors on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 4 to 9 p.m. for the third year of Mariposa’s Summer Fun Street Fair as the community gathers downtown to make a difference in the lives of local children. You’re almost guaranteed to have a lot of good community fun while doing so.
Last year’s event was a huge success with over 600 people in attendance from near and far, say those behind the scenes at CASA Mariposa, the nonprofit youth advocacy organization hosting the event. CASA — aka Court Appointed Special Advocates — has been serving Mariposa County youth in foster care and the court system since 2004.
The Summer Fun Street Fair is an all-age, free-to-enter event with live bands playing all our favorite dance songs and more than 30 ‘Made in Mariposa’ vendors from local chefs, artists and artisans to farmers and entertainers.
Feast on delicious food and sweets, imbibe with cider or beer, pick up some beautifully made gifts and get some face painting while you’re at it. Art booths and free kid’s activities are among the highlights this year.
CASA of Mariposa County created the Summer Street Fair in 2017 to promote community, economy and healthy families. As an incentive to purchase from the all-local vendors and Downtown Business Partners, every $5 spent at the Street Fair gives attendees a chance to win valuable prizes in the Street Fair Giveaway, including Disneyland packages, zoo tickets, vacations, sports passes and more.
Downtown Business Partners are offering incredible promotions exclusively on Aug. 10 portion of all proceeds will go to support CASA work to help every child and youth have a safe, loving and permanent home as quickly as possible.
This event-packed day is perfect for families and adults alike with live performances by lJNX, 7 Dollar Lemons, A.I. and Rio Bravo.
