“We’re excited to share what the study has found thus far with the community,” said Board of Supervisor Chairman, David Rogers. “We’ve received wonderful engagement from the community over the course of the study so far and are excited to continue working with Madera County residents, businesses, and stakeholders as we look toward a sustainable waste management future for Madera County.”
About Open Houses
Open house stakeholder engagement sessions are a forum for community members and solid waste management experts to exchange information in one-on-one conversations. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the consultant’s preliminary findings, and the consultant leading the study will leave with stakeholder feedback to be used to refine study recommendations. County officials and subject matter experts will be arranged at various information stations where participants can stop by and engage on the specific station’s issue. No formal presentations or discussions will take place during this event; however, participants are encouraged to bring all their questions, thoughts, and comments to discuss with officials at their stations.
About the Solid Waste Management Study
The solid waste management study, which began at the beginning of the summer, aims to provide an in-depth analysis of current solid waste practices and identify opportunities for improvement. The study incorporates input from the community collected through two engagement opportunities: world café-style events held in May and a community survey circulated online. The county expects the consultant to publish its preliminary findings at least a week before the open houses.
