Oakhurst Sierra Rotary Gives $10,725 to Boys & Girls Club

The Rotary Club of Oakhurst Sierra — also know as the Noon Rotary — presented a giant check Tuesday to the Oakhurst Boys & Girls Club.

The $10,750 donation was “huge” in more ways than one, according to Doug Macaulay, board president of the Oakhurst Boys & Girls Club, which has been shuttered since late June due to funding issues.

Macaulay said this week’s generous gift from Rotary will provide a big boost in helping club organizers reopen the facility, possibly as soon as next month.

Taking part in Tuesday’s check presentation: (l to r) Dan Rule, Oakhurst Sierra Rotary past president; Jennifer Simmons, BGC manager; Mickey Simmons, BGC; Carina Stephens, Oakhurst Sierra Rotary director; Jessica Star, BGC; Kim Pounds, BGC; Doug Macaulay, BGC board president; Saige Jackson, BGC; Kale Simmons, BGC; Sheri Lee (back), Rotary past president; Kobe Simmons (front), BGC; Lani Suderman, Rotary secretary; Marie Simon, BGC board member; and Christine Smith, Rotary president.
