Visit The NF History Group At Jamboree

The mission of the North Fork History Group is “Gathering, Preserving and Sharing the History of a Community,” and as the Loggers Jamboree approaches, there is heightened interest in the history of the Central Sierra.

The keepers of that history are the dedicated folks of the North Fork History Group. They are a collective weath of information about the area and the culture that inspired the Mid- Sierra Loggers Jamboree.

While you’re at the Rec Center on Sunday enjoying the Jamboree, look for their booth. You will not only learn a bit about the history of the North Fork area, you will be able to support their efforts by purchasing raffle tickets for two beautiful belt buckles, created and donated by Montana artisan Richard Nicholas to help raise money for the cause.History Group Belt Buckle 2

Tickets are only $1 each, or 6 for $5. These beautiful buckles will be awarded to the first and second prize winners.

Prizes also include:

-Center of California hat

-Set of the History Group’s famous historic notecards

-A photograph of the Old North Fork Mill

Tickets will be available for sale and the winning ticket will be drawn at the Jamboree on Sunday, July 1st. Look for North Fork History Group’s booth and stop in to say hello and pick up your tickets!

Grace Community Church, 56446 Road 200 North Fork

My Grandma Betty’s funeral will be at their church, Grace Community Church, at 11am, followed by a simple parade of Squad 11, escorting the hearse through the town of North Fork, to the North Fork Cemetery for gravesite service, where she will be laid to rest, then back to the church for potluck. This is for anyone and everyone who knew my Grandma and would like to come.
