New Storm Warning For Bass Lake, Fish Camp, Yosemite

MOUNTAIN AREA — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Nevada from Yosemite to Kings Canyon. The Warning is in effect from 5 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 15 to 5 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 17.

Heavy snow is expected, with the possibility of total snow accumulations of 12-to-16-inches, and localized amounts up to 28-inches.

For areas including Bass Lake, Fish Camp and Yosemite, plan on difficult travel conditions, say the experts, and be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, the NWS recommends keeping an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Call 5 1 1 for the latest road conditions.

In the foothills, rain is anticipated. Click through to the forecast for your neighborhood.
