MARIPOSA — On Friday, June 23, Music on the Green will feature DK and the Ritz, a blend of old favorites from the 1940s through the soft sounds of folk rock. Based on vocal harmonies and sweetly played piano and acoustic guitar music, DK and the Ritz brings back our favorite memories in music. With the soft powerful vocals of Kim Barnett and the bright harmonies and leads of Danny Croft, DK is backed up by the smoothing percussion and harmonies of Mike Naranjo and deep bass tones of Tom Phillips.
On Saturday, June 24, the Yosemite Songwriter Retreat returns to Music on the Green. Managed by local musicians, Gail Dreifus and Adam Burns, YSR invites songwriters from 18 and up to participate in annual classes, workshops, mentoring, performance and recording opportunities in Mariposa County at locations that inspire creativity and relaxation. This concert will showcase many of the talented musicians from YSR, including Tenbroek (Rose Fluharty), duo Lo Moon, Dan Gross, and Home Tonight (Gail Driefus and David Budries).
All performances begin at 7 p.m. (unless otherwise noted).
This event will be held at the Mariposa County Art Park (5013 Hwy 140) in historic downtown Mariposa, CA. Parking is available along 4th and 5th St. The lower 5th St. parking lot provides an accessible pedestrian path to the Art Park through the Mariposa Creek Parkway entry.
Tips for the performers will be solicited, encouraged, and appreciated.
