MARIPOSA — Students at Mariposa Elementary School invite the community to attend a Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 10 at the school located at 5044 Jones Street in Mariposa.
The ceremony starts at 8:45 a.m. and includes local veterans, representatives from Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sheriff’s Honor Guards, the Mariposa County High School Band and Associated Student Body, and color guard. A 21-gun salute and Taps will be heard by the crowd in a ceremony that’s expected to last about 30 minutes.
“Please come help us honor the men and women who have helped to keep our country free,” say organizers, adding that the day is “dedicated with love and respect to all of our American veterans.”
Schools will be closed on Friday, Veterans Day.
