Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through Nov. 11

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Monday, Nov. 5, to Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018.

Oakhurst report of suspicious vehicle leads to arrest at condemned house
On Monday, Nov. 5 at 6:43 a.m. deputies responded for a report of a suspicious vehicle driving up the driveway of a condemned house that was located in the 49000 block of Chapel Hill Drive. Deputies arrived and located two subjects inside of the condemned residence. Narcotics were located on both subjects during a search and they were arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections.

Oakhurst burglary of multiple vehicles
On Monday, Nov. 5 at 8:20 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 42000 block of CA-41 concerning multiple vehicles having been burglarized. Evidence was collected and a report was taken.

Raymond report of possible explosive device
On Monday, Nov. 5 at 11:57 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 25000 block of Road 207 in regards to a possible explosive device. Upon arrival, the device was determined to be model rocket engines. The engines were later turned over to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit for destruction. Report to be closed.

Coarsegold theft
On Monday, Nov. 5 at 12:26 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to investigate a theft that reportedly occurred in the 43000 block of Werney Road. A report was taken. Currently there are no suspect(s).

Coarsegold family dispute and physical assault against elder
On Monday, Nov. 5 at 11:21 a.m. deputies were dispatched to the 35000 block of Conway Road for a report of a physical altercation between family members. It was later determined that a male elderly family member had significant injuries to his arms which required medical attention. The elderly male’s son was found to be the aggressor and was arrested for outstanding warrants and for elder abuse and booked into the Madera County DOC.

Coarsegold felony warrant and domestic assault charge
On Monday, Nov. 5 at 3:26 p.m. the Madera Sheriff Problem Oriented Police (POP) Team conducted warrant services in the mountain division. A male subject was contacted in the 47000 block of Hopi Avenue. He was wanted for a felony warrant and a pending charge (PCD) for a previous domestic assault. He was arrested transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections. Case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst report of loitering leads to warrant arrest
On Monday, Nov. 5 at 5:14 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 40000 block of CA-41, regarding several subjects loitering in the parking lot. During the investigation one of the subjects was found to have two outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. This male was placed into custody for the warrants and released with a citation. This case has been cleared by arrest.

Coarsegold purse found containing suspected meth
On Monday, Nov. 5 at 10:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 46000 block of Lucky Lane, regarding a report of found contraband. During the investigation it was determined that a small clear plastic bag containing a white crystal substance was found inside a purse. The purse was found in a public area of the business and the owner was not located. The substance was suspected to be methamphetamine and later found to weigh 3.8 grams with packaging. The substance was recovered and later booked for destruction. This case has been closed.

Oakhurst narcotics found
On Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 8:05 a.m. a deputy was flagged down by an individual who wanted to turn over a small bag with white powdery
substance that was found in the area of CA-49 and Westlake Drive. The substance was turned over to the deputy and a report was
written.

Coarsegold theft
On Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. deputies responded to the 700 block of Lucky Lane regarding a reported theft. Deputies discovered a theft had taken place and will be investigating the case. Case to remain open pending further information.

Oakhurst woman reportedly under the influence holding small child
On Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 4:32 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 for a report of a concerned citizen stating that she saw female that appeared under the influence of drugs and holding a three-year-old child. The female and the child were later located and interviewed. The female was not cooperative regarding the living situation for the child; a report was written and forwarded to the Madera County Child Protective Services (CPS) for review.

Coarsegold vehicle with registration five years out-of-date
On Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 9:23 a.m. deputies found a vehicle on the 35000 block of CA-41 that had expired registration by over five years. Deputies towed and impounded the vehicle under California Vehicle Code 4000 (a) (1).

Coarsegold report of fraud
On Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 11:02 a.m. deputies responded to the 30000 block of Hogans Mountain Road regarding a reported case of fraud. A report was taken and a case number was provided to the victim.

Coarsegold report of sex crime
On Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 1:12 p.m.  a deputy was dispatched regarding an adult female wanted to report she had unlawful sex when she was a minor. Report closed per victim’s request.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. a deputy was dispatched regarding a self-inflicted cut with uncontrollable bleeding. The subject was contacted and found to be a danger to himself and was turned over to medical staff for
emergency transport to an area trauma center.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 4:40 p.m. a deputy took a report of vandalism that occurred in the 31000 block of Sioux Road. The case was suspended due to lack of investigative leads.

Oakhurst subject loitering arrested for warrants
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 12:50 a.m. a deputy checked a subject in the 40000 block of Enterprise Drive for loitering near closed businesses. The male subject was found to have three misdemeanor warrants. He was arrested and booked at DOC.

Coarsegold expired vehicle registration, expired driver’s license
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 2:33 a.m. a deputy was on patrol and conducted a traffic stop on Lucky Lane for a vehicle with expired registration. A deputy contacted the driver who had an expired driver’s license from out of state. The driver was cited.

Coarsegold motor vehicle stop, warrant and substance citation
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 2:33 a.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 46000 block of Lucky Lane. A passenger was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant and was in possession of a controlled substance. She was cited and released. Case forwarded to the DA’s office.

Bass Lake disturbance leads to warrant arrest
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 11:38 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 57000 block of Road 225 regarding a disturbance. The subject was arrested on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and transported to MDOC without incident.

Coarsegold missing juvenile
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 4:44 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Running Deer Drive regarding a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile returned home prior to clearing the call.

Oakhurst danger to self
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a report of a domestic incident. The domestic incident was determined by the deputy to be unfounded and one subject was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Coarsegold traffic stop
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 9:14 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violation in the area of CA-41 and Mecca Lane. The driver was found to have an active misdemeanor warrant. He was cited and released.

Coarsegold domestic assault
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 8:54 p.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a domestic assault. The incident occurred on Lucky Lane and Highway 41. An investigation was conducted and report written.

Oakhurst report of burglary to cabin at Lost Lake
On Thursday, Nov. 8 at 6:24 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to take a report of a burglary to a cabin that occurred near Lost Lake. A report was written.

Coarsegold domestic violence
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 12:52 a.m. deputies responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a domestic violence incident. An investigation was completed and an arrest was made. An emergency protective order was refused. The subject was booked at Madera DOC without incident. Case forwarded to the DA’s office for prosecution.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 12:52 a.m. deputies responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a domestic disturbance. An investigation was conducted and a female subject was arrested for unrelated warrants. She was booked at Madera DOC.

Coarsegold controlled substance
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 2:25 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane for a small amount of controlled substance located in a bathroom. The controlled substance was collected and booked into evidence.

Oakhurst report of threats
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 8:38 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Chapel Hill Drive regarding a report of threats. An attempt was made to locate the suspect with no results at this time. Report to be forwarded to the District Attorney for filing charges.

Oakhurst suspicious activity reported
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 9:21 a.m. a deputy responded to a the 49000 block of Pierce Drive in regards to suspicious activity around the property and items that have been misplaced in the homeowners’ residence. Case closed due to lack of investigate leads.

Coarsegold found narcotics
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 11:05 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding found narcotics at the location. The narcotics were collected and later booked for destruction. This case may be closed.

Oakhurst found property
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 3:04 p.m. a deputy was dispatched in regards to a report of found property located in the area of Buckeye Road.

Ahwahnee non-emergency call on 911 emergency line
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 5:34 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 45000 block of CA-49 regarding a subject who made a non-emergency call on a 911 emergency line. An arrest was made and a report was written. Forward this case to Madera DA’s office for review of
charges filed.

Bass Lake search and rescue of 80-year-old man
On Friday, Nov. 9 at 6:38 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the Chilkoot Lake area for a male subject, 80, who went on a hike and was overdue. Deputies and Search and Rescue responded to the area and located the subject eight miles from the trail or his vehicle. The subject was found alive and was not injured.

Coarsegold warrant citation
On Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10:29 p.m. a deputy was on scene of another call in the area of 37000 Ravensbrook Way and cited out a subject on a warrant for her arrest.

Bass Lake vandalism
On Sunday, Nov. 11 at 3:41 a.m. deputies responded to the area of Road 222 and Way Cool Way for a report of threats being made. The threats were unfounded but it was learned a vandalism had occurred. A report was written.
