Madera County Sheriff’s Log Through August 5, 2019

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office of reports taken locally from Tuesday, July 30, to Monday, August 5, 2019.

Oakhurst report of phone scam
On Tuesday, July 30, at 10:10 a.m., a cadet was dispatched to the 48000 block of Liberty Drive for a possible phone scam. No suspect. A report was taken.

North Fork narcotics and warrant arrest
On Thursday, August 1, at 12:02 a.m., a self-initiated vehicle stop was conducted at the 31000 block of Road 222. One female was arrested for a felony warrant out of Madera County, multiple narcotic violations, possession of an altered check, and possession of counterfeit money. Another female was arrested for multiple narcotic violations. Vehicle was towed and stored for expiration over 6 months. Forward to the Madera County DA to pursue charges.

Oakhurst felony arrest
On Thursday, August 1, at 4:13 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 41 and Highway 49 on a vehicle that was displaying expired registration tags. The male driver and the female passenger were later arrested and booked on various felony and misdemeanor charges.

Coarsegold vandalism
On Thursday, August 1, at 8:27 a.m., a cadet was dispatched by telephone to the 48000 block of Liberty Drive in regards to a report of a vandalism that occurred on the 35000 block of Bohna Ranch Road. Report closed due to lack of suspect(s) or investigative leads.

Oakhurst theft
On Thursday, August 1, at 3:49 p.m., a cadet was dispatched to the 48000 block of Liberty Drive in regards to a report of a theft which occurred on the 40000 block of Highway 49. Case closed due to lack of suspect(s) or investigative leads.

Coarsegold suicidal subject
On Thursday, August 1, at 5:13 p.m., the Madera Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 30000 block of Highway 41 in regards to a possible suicidal subject. An investigation was conducted and a report was written. A female patient was placed on a 72-hour mental evaluation hold and she was
transported to MCH by EMS. Documentation only.

Coarsegold narcotics arrest
On Thursday, August 1, at 11:23 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of CA-41 near Road 416 on a vehicle with expired registration. The male passenger was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was arrested and issued a citation and promised to appear at a later court date.

Oakhurst narcotics arrest
On Friday, August 2, at 1:47 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Road 222 and Dorstan Drive on a vehicle that drove several times to the right side of the roadway. The female driver was later arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a citation with a later court date.

Coarsegold theft
On Friday, August 2, at 5:00 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a theft. Information was obtained to conduct the investigation.

Coarsegold warrant arrest
On Friday, August 2, at 6:56 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 30000 block of CA-41 in regards to a report of a 15-year-old female juvenile at the location using narcotics with adult males on the property. During the course of the investigation two males were arrested and cited for warrants out of Madera County. One male was arrested and booked on two warrants and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. Female juvenile was eventually located and there was no evidence of her using narcotics. Forward to Madera County DA to pursue charges.

Oakhurst domestic violence arrest
On Friday, August 2, at 9:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of CA-41 regarding a possible domestic violence. Once on scene, the suspect was apprehended and arrested for public intoxication and domestic violence.

Oakhurst felony arrest
On Saturday, August 3, at 12:44 a.m., a deputy attempted to stop a U-Haul vehicle that was driving recklessly in the area of CA-41 and CA-49 when it failed to yield to lights and sirens. The vehicle sped off and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle eventually came to a stop within the city limits of Merced, CA. The male driver was arrested for several felony charges and booked into Madera DOC.

Coarsegold narcotics discovered
On Saturday, August 3, at 5:52 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 34000 block of CA-41 regarding found narcotics. Possession was taken of the item and it was later booked for destruction.

Coarsegold runaway found
On Sunday, August 4, at 2:47 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to a residence located in the 46000 block of Skyline Ridge Road, Coarsegold for a report of a runaway female subject. Case forward to the Madera County Juvenile Probation to pursue the charges against the runaway female subject.

Coarsegold disturbance
On August 4, at 4:22 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Hwy 49 in Oakhurst regarding a male subject causing a disturbance at a local business.

Coarsegold physical disturbance
On Sunday, August 4, at 11:18 p.m., deputies responded to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding a physical disturbance. A subject was booked into Madera County Department of Corrections and a report was written.
