Madera County Sheriff’s Log for January 7-13, 2020

MADERA COUNTY – Following are details from the Madera County Sheriff’s Office reports taken locally from January 7-13,  2020.

Coarsegold – Vandalism
On Tuesday, January 7, at 7:25 a.m., a corporal was dispatched to Oonay Nation Road regarding vandalism. Some kind of substance was poured onto the porch of an apartment several days ago. No monetary damage. Documentation only at this time.

Oakhurst – Subject Evaluation
On Tuesday, January 7, at 9:28 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Rock Point Road regarding a male subject needing an evaluation.

Coarsegold – Stolen Wallet
On Tuesday, January 7, at 10:28 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to Lucky Lane regarding a wallet that was stolen. A credit card in the wallet was later fraudulently used at a gas station in Coarsegold. Case due to lack of suspect leads.

Oakhurst – Suspicious People
On Tuesday, January 13, at 1:28 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Opah Drive regarding a report of suspicious people.

Coarsegold – Suicidal Female
On Tuesday, January 7, at 7:20 p.m., deputies responded to Highway 41 for a suicidal female. Upon arrival, female was contacted and found to be a danger to herself. Female was placed on a W&I-5150 hold and transported to Madera Community Hospital by Sierra Ambulance.

Coarsegold – Found Narcotics
On Wednesday, January 8, at 1:33 a.m., a deputy responded to Lucky Lane for found narcotics. Narcotics were turned over to the deputy and the narcotics was placed into evidence for destruction. Report taken and closed.

O’Neals – Trespassing Arrest
On Wednesday, January 8, at 2:45 p.m., deputies responded to Road 200 in O’Neals for a report of a suspicious person in a Uhaul parked on a private driveway. During a vehicle stop Deputies contacted one female and one male subject. During the investigation one female was arrested and booked at Madera DOC for a out of County Misdemeanor warrant. Case by arrest.

O’Neals – Narcotics Overdose
On Wednesday, January 8, at 2:45 p.m., a deputy responded to a dispatch call on Road 200 in O’Neals regarding trespassing. The subjects were located and a female was booked for a misdemeanor warrant. A male was arrested for PC 148 Obstructing and Delaying. During the arrest, the male went into a narcotic overdose and life saving efforts were successfully performed by deputies at scene. Charges are being requested.

Bass Lake – Domestic Disturbance
On Wednesday, January 8, at 6:59 p.m., deputies responded to Cedar Drive for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, both parties were contacted and the female half was placed under arrest. Report was written and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office.

Oakhurst – Mental Health Hold
On Thursday, January 9, at 2:06 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to CA-41 regarding a report of a possible W&I 5150 male. The male/patient was placed on a W&I 5150 hold.

Coarsegold – Body Found
On Thursday, January 9, at 3:42 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Yosemite Springs Parkway regarding a subject who was found unconscious. The subject was found to be deceased upon arrival. An investigation was conducted and a report was written.

Coarsegold – Wallet Found
On Thursday, January 9, at 6:45 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Lucky Lane in regards to a found wallet. The owner was later contacted by phone and returned to pick up the wallet. Report written for documentation only.

North Fork – Narcotics Arrest
On Thursday, January 9, at 8:42 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Road 222. An investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested, cited and released.

Coarsegold – Dog Bite
On Friday, January 10, at 3:25 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the block of Miwoc for a report of a subject possibly being bit by a neighbor’s dog. An investigation was conducted and it was determined that the subject did not get bit by the dog. Documentation only.

North Fork – Burglary
On Friday, January 10, at 6:40 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Road 222 for a report of a burglary. An investigation was conducted and it was determined that a trailer on the property had been broken into and that someone has been staying on the property without permission.

North Fork – Misdemeanor Arrest 
On Sunday, January 12, at 4:11 p.m., deputies responded to Road 222 in North Fork in the County of Madera for a report of trespassing. One person was contacted and arrested for several misdemeanor warrants out of Madera County. Case closed by arrest.

Coarsegold – Found Narcotics
On Sunday, January 12, at 5:30 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Lucky Lane regarding found narcotics. An investigation was completed and the narcotics were collected for destruction. Close this case.

Oakhurst – Family Dispute
On Sunday, January 12, at 7:52 p.m., a report of a possible family dispute on Bon Veu Place lead to the arrest of a local woman who was previously involved in a fight at a local bar. Female was booked for public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Oakhurst – Family Disturbance, Theft
On Monday, January 13, at 8:02 a.m., an officer responded to Victoria Lane in the County of Madera for a report of a family disturbance and theft. The claims were unfounded. A report was taken for information only. Case closed.

North Fork – Firearms Surrendered for Destruction
On Monday, January 13, at 9:05 a.m., an officer responded to the Oakhurst substation and contacted a person who wanted to turned in two firearms for destruction. Report taken, case to be closed.

Ahwahnee – Investigative Follow-Up
On Monday, January 13, at 12:04 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to Road 600 in Ahwahnee regarding an investigative follow up. Report written, subject contacted with warrants, and case closed by arrest.

Oakhurst – Suicidal Female
On Monday, January 13, at 11:52 a.m., an officer responded to CA-41 Oakhurst for report of a person making suicidal statement via text. One female adult was placed on a W&I 5150 hold and transported to an acute medical facility for an evaluation.

Coarsegold – Pedestrian Fatality
On Monday, January 13, at 6:26 p.m., a deputy responded to the area of Highway 41 for a vehicle versus pedestrian. Upon arrival, subject was pronounced deceased. Report was taken and forwarded to the Sheriff’s Coroners division.
